All maize varieties of SAATBAU LINZ are by default coated with OPTIPLUS. This ensures comprehensive seed protection:

  • FUNGICIDAL TREATMENT
    against fungi and emergence diseases

    for improved root growth, vitality and stress tolerance

OPTIPLUS - all-inclusive protection of maize seeds

In addition to the common treatment with fungicides against fungi and emergence diseases, trace elements are applied to the seeds.

OPTIPLUS also contains a bird repellent. The emerging plants are thus very well protected from serving as bird feed (especially effective against crows, feasants and pigeons) while the birds are not harmed.

As their names imply, trace elements and micronutrients are needed in very small doses, yet they are essential for growth. Sufficient provision with trace elements makes plants more vital and resistant to diseases and stress. By applying the trace elements directly to the seeds, they are available immediately after germination.

 

It is important that the trace elements are directly available to the seedlings, particularly during cooler periods, which makes them a crucial element for good early development.

The trace elements foster root growth. This improves water absorption during dry periods.

The stronger the influence of stress factors (cold, heat, aridity, water logging) on the plants, the greater the positive effect on yields as compared to untreated variants.
