Description

Emmer (Triticum turgidum ssp. dicoccum) is a hulled ancient cereal type of today’s durum wheat. FARVENTO can be sown in spring or autumn. Its lodging resistance is limited, therefore, in crop rotation, make sure not to oversupply FARVENTO with nitrogen. Emmer has low soil requirements and low nutrient needs, but winter hardiness is limited. In terms of quality, FARVENTO convinces with a very hard, vitreous grain, which, alongside the gugh protein and mineral content, makes it ideally suited as a raw material for pasta production.
